A história segue Takuya Arima, um jovem que perdeu a mãe quando era criança e que recentemente perdeu o pai em um acidente. Um dia, Takuya recebe um pacote contendo um misterioso objeto espelhado e uma carta indicando que seu pai ainda está vivo, além de instruir Takuya a levar o objeto para o Monte Sankaku às dez horas da noite. Quando Takuya segue as instruções, ele se depara com uma mulher misteriosa, o diretor de sua escola e uma estranha estudante transferida, o grupo é engolido em um flash de luz e uma aventura através de realidades paralelas se inicia.
