Baseado no jogo de sucesso da Square Enix, Neku morreu, mas não se lembra do que aconteceu. Ele entra no Jogo dos Shinigamis no Underground, uma competição para que os mortos sejam ressuscitados… e os perdedores serão apagados da existência.
