When she begins her training, the mysterious great wizard Lucas appears before her with a warning.

Athanasia falls into a coma from which Lucas saves her. She is told that she collapsed because her magical energy overflowed, and she's given highly skilled tutors to help her learn to control her magic, but she shows no signs of improvement. Then, she makes a certain deal with Lucas.

Athanasia starts her magical training with Lucas, but she shows no signs of improvement at all. She grows dissatisfied with Lucas' teaching methods and begins comparing him with Duke Alpheus' son Ijikiel. Lucas says, "If you're so interested in him, then...," and uses his magic to send Athanasia to Ijikiel.
